2024 CHNF Award of ASIA – Recipient Announced!
Mariela Degano, an educator from Rosario, Argentina has been named as recipient of the 2024 Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Allied Health Professional Research Award of ASIA. Degano will receive $30,000 to fund her study, “A Pilot study of family system intervention for individuals with SCI and their families in Spanish speaking countries of Latin America.” The Allied Health Professional Research Award of ASIA is to encourage clinicians with an interest but limited experience in research to be mentored by an experienced researcher to develop a study from proposal to completion.

Perspectives is a new article type now being accepted by Topics in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation (TSCIR). A perspective article provides a forum for disseminating new and original lines of thinking in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. These articles should present original ideas based on current knowledge and adequately grounded by published scientific evidence/literature.

Remembering Dr. Mary Bartlett Bunge
We regretfully inform you of the passing of our friend and colleague Dr. Mary Bartlett Bunge who died February 17, 2024. Dr. Bunge was a dedicated scientist and an important member of our academic community. Dr. Bunge was the ASIA 2001 Sell lecturer, presenting for her husband Dr. Richard Bunge who had passed shortly before he could present the lecture. In 2018, Drs. Mary and Richard Bunge were awarded the ASIA Lifetime Achievement Award.
