Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Allied Health Professional Research Award of ASIA. The CHNF Allied Health Professional Research Award of ASIA is to encourage clinicians with an interest in research, but who have limited experience in research thus far in their career – fostering the transition of the applicant from a clinician into becoming a researcher.

2025 Vogel Award of ASIA
Congratulations Dr James W. Varni, named as recipient of the 2025 Vogel Award. Dr. Varni is receiving the award for his paper “Pain, pain interference, social and school/work functioning in youth with spinal cord injury: A mediation analysis.” The Vogel Award is given annually for the best paper by a clinician or researcher involved in Pediatric SCI Rehabilitation in the preceding calendar year.

2025 Apple Award of ASIA
Congratulations Dr. Brian Le, recipient of the 2025 Apple Award for his paper “Association of Calcium and Vitamin D Supplements with Fractures in Persons with a Traumatic SCI.” Dr. Le is an early-career clinician-researcher at the Augusta Veterans Affairs Health System in Augusta, GA. The Apple Award for excellence in publishing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation literature is presented annually during the ASIA Annual Scientific Meeting in recognition of the best-published paper by a clinician or researcher in the preceding calendar year.
