Congratulations Paulina Scheuren, PhD, recipient of the 2026 Apple award for her paper “Enhanced Clinical Trial Stratification in Spinal Cord Injury: the Value of Electrophysiology.” Dr. Scheuren is a postdoctoral fellow at the International Collaboration On Repair Discoveries (ICORD), University of British Columbia (UBC).  The Apple Award is given in memory of David F. Registration is now open for the 2026 conference of The International Symposium of Neural Regeneration (The ISNR), July 19-23 in Cambridge, MD. ISNR meetings are attended by leaders in neural regeneration, bioengineering, and associated fields with a focus on spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve repair. The ISNR is an affiliate of the American Spinal Injury Association.

Congratulations Dr. James W. Varni, named second year in a row as recipient of the Vogel Award.  Dr. Varni is receiving the 2026 Vogel award for his paper “Pain, Daily Activities, Mobility, and Psychosocial Health in Young People With Spinal Cord Injury: A Test of Biological Sex in a Moderated Mediation Analysis Pain, pain interference, social and school/work functioning in youth with spinal cord injury: A mediation analysis.” The Vogel Award is given annually for the best paper by a clinician or researcher involved in Pediatric SCI Rehabilitation in the preceding calendar year.
