ASIA UNITE (Uniting New Investigators and Trainees with Experts) is a way for early career researchers and trainees to build connections with established researchers and clinicians. Participants will complete New Investigator/Trainee and/or Expert profiles as appropriate (see below). Profile information will be available in the ASIA UNITE directory. The directory will be open for participants to contact those with similar interests for engagement and discussions on relevant topics, but we will suggest appropriate matches, if requested. ASIA UNITE activities will then be presented during the ASIA UNITE Breakfast at each annual meeting.

Mentorship Spotlights
2018 – Rochester, MN
Laura Krisa, PhD and Katie Gant, PhD were matched during the 2018 ASIA conference in Rochester, MN. Katie says she enjoyed meeting her mentor during a conference when she had opportunities to talk to her mentor in person about career paths, special interests and SCI clinical trials involvement. “Her translational expertise and willingness to learn new skills is really inspiring.” Says Gant of Krisa. “Laura introduced me to other scientists and clinicians at the meeting who are working on related research projects. Thanks to those introductions, I ended up on a committee on the very first day of the conference!”
Laura highly recommends the ASIA Mentorship program. “ASIA has a lot to offer its members and having someone that knows how to navigate the different avenues to find which one best suits your needs can be beneficial. For a member that is new to the organization learning about the different opportunities available from someone that has more insight can avoid confusion and provide a
positive and helpful environment for someone just getting orientated to the organization.”
