The mission of the ASIA Early Career Committee is to nourish the career growth of students, trainees, and early career professionals with an interest in the SCI field, encourage interaction across rehabilitation disciplines and throughout the career trajectory, and foster leadership within the field.

Early Career 2024 Best Oral Presentation
Claire Shackleton has received the 2024 Early Career Best Poster award for her abstract and talk: Claire Shackleton, PhD, is currently completing her postdoctoral fellowship in the Autonomic Lab at the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (ICORD) research centre at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Advised by Dr Andrei Krassioukov, she studies neurorehabilitation following spinal cord injury, with a focus on electrical stimulation and sexual function. |

Early Career 2024 Best Poster Justine Stewart has received the 2024 Early Career award for her poster: Dr. Stewart is a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow at Shriners Children’s Chicago. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Wheaton College and completed her behavioral psychology residency at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Stewart is a mixed-methods researcher who uses a biopsychosocial lens to understand quality of life for people with disabilities. Her current research focuses on the development of a patient-reported outcome measure that assesses appraisals of disability for youth with spinal cord injuries. |
